Yes, we’ll work with each student before they apply to determine—based on transcripts and professional experience—exactly which courses (if any) they’ll need to complete prior to starting the core requirements.

Prerequisites for the program draw from general, widely offered curriculum, and can be completed through a number of institutions, including Valpo. Students should be sure to discuss their course of choice with their Admissions Specialist to make sure their work is completely applicable.
How quickly can the program be completed?
Students can complete the program in 12-18 months if attending full-time and about 2-3 years if completing the program part-time.
How much time should I expect to devote to the program each week?
This varies with each student and each course, but students should expect regular assignments, readings, and programming with regular deadlines equivalent to any other advanced, graduate-level course of study. Some of the assignments will also require group work, so it’s highly advised that students log in to the online learning system once daily to check in.

For part-time students, we recommend 3-6 credits per term, with 6 credits taken during the summer (depending on the student’s work schedule).

Students can take a break from the program, if necessary, but this must be approved in advance. Please contact an advisor to learn about requirements and deadlines.
Can I work full-time and still pursue the program?
Yes, students can complete the program while working full-time.
